Advent

Advent means “coming”……  Christians look forward to the coming of the Christ Child at Christmas. This is the first Christmas I am retired, so it is a good time for me over the next few weeks to look forward to the birth of Jesus for myself.  Over the last few days there has been such a lot of media interest in the recent death of George Best and it is interesting that in the main, he is remembered for his outstanding skills o­n the football field. It made me think about what I would like to be remembered for. It is a question worth asking ourselves, especially in the busy run up to Christmas.
