Hey Freda, remember me? Douglas Robertson from Appin and Lismore – now Senior Minister (it's not half as grand as it sounds) of the Scots' Church in Melbourne Australia. Glancing at the Church of Scotland website I was mystified to discover the incorrigable story of Helen Percy was still rumbling on a decade after it all began. Did a google search for “Helen Percy” to see if I could catch up on the goss, and your little piece came up! Other than the official press reports, there's not much conversation happening around it. Quite irrespective of the details of the individual case, it seems that it could fundamentally undermine the autonomy of the church. Some will think that's good, some bad, but either way, it's a pretty serious thing. So I expected some more chatter online. Ho hum. It seems that we're not really interested in the future of the church.
Anyway, if you want to say hi, drop me a line on douglas@scotschurch.com
And every blessing to you and Robin for a fabulous Christmas and New Year.
Douglas
