Thanks to the miracles of modern technology – (ie Wifi) – I can post to my website whilst away from home. We are with Son No 2 near New Pitsligo and Pennan. Lots to see here on the smallholding though – including one small cairn amidst eight horses’ hooves. That is two horses and eight hooves, just for the record. Whence commeth such bravery? You may well ask; the secret is in feeding time and a cairn passion for anything edible, like horse feed.

The life and thoughts of Freda Marshall, a retired Church of Scotland minister living amongst the mountains and glens of Argyll.Pages
I was flabbergasted to see websites for Pennan and New Pitsligo (or “Kyak” (spelling?) as it used to be known in the North East).
We visited Pennan with the in-laws the year our eldest was born, soon after “Local Hero” came out. We were lucky with a beautiful day. And we had lunch in the Pennan Inn. Oh, happy days…
It is a beautiful part of the country, and Local Hero is one of my all-time favourite films.
