Writing

It was Clive James who said, “Well you have to sweat a lot to make writing look effortless.”

My trouble is that I am a compulsive writer: that includes blogging, journalling and re-starting endless short stories and novels. But I am not all that disciplined. So my intention is to start being real about the research, the grammar and the vocabulary as well as the plot. That means I need to read lots of books. Lovely. However, I have managed to complete Assignment 8 in my creative writing course. (Only a year since the last one…..ho hum….)

I always used to worry that I was leading my merry congregation to hell……. Well, not really! I kept trusting that somehow God would make it right. As to writing, well, I miss my trusty Psion for on the spot ideas and notes. A PDA and stylus is not the same.

What course are you doing? Is it distance learning?

Hi Chris, It is the Writer’s Bureau correspondence course. I have now done 8 of 20 assignments. I am ashamed to say my rate of submission has been around one a year! I keep promising myself to do better.
