Novelists who churn out books year after year often talk of being able to do up to 1,000 words an hour. My trouble is that I can sometimes do the 1,000 words, but none of them are any good.

hmmm. 1000 words an hour…on and on
quantity vs. quality?
but really: is there that much that needs to be said (vs. living) that justifies 1000 words an hour, endlessly?
what’s the point?
who reads all those books?
I’d rather read 1 small quality volume and sit in prayer by a lakeside than toss tome after tome, skimmed and finished, into my “see what I can do?!” pile
amazing the things modern culture honors, isn’t it?
🙂
