Each year round about this time I sort out the list for Christmas cards. And each year I try to work out how to do labels. In the six years since I have had a computer based address list I have managed it properly once. This year I cannot even find the bit in the instruction book which gives the modus operandi.

And a good king Wenceslas to you.

Writing a ‘blog’ at 7:06am on a Monday smacks of desperation. Christmas card lists, like church pews are sent to try us in the way referred to in that lovely little passage from Ecclesiasticus to be read at (protestant?) funerals, ‘and after a little chastisement they will receive great blessing because God has tested them and found them to be worthy to be his!

Don’t mind when you ‘blog’ just keep them coming.

My problem is that I don’t have labels. I have the list, I have the know-how BUT as all my envelopes are different sizes printing would be a mammoth task, ergo, back to pen and ink! Just hope the postal service can decipher my writing.

Think I shall give up and handwrite the addresses. It would take less time in the end.
