I have to confess that I have never watched Big Brother – nor its offshoot – Celebrity Big Brother, so I decided to tune in to Channel 4 last night to improve my education. For a start, I hardly knew who anyone was, then I found myself intimidated on behalf of those who were finding some of the arrivals a bit much to take. Smacks too much of rats in a cage in a laboratory or the Roman Games of old. But then I suppose that is the point. Perhaps I just don’t get it. I prefer to curl up with a cup of tea and a good book. Just an old-fashioned elderperson after all.

Freda,
First off, a Healthy and Happy New Year to you and HBTW.
Secondly, I’m with you on the lack of attraction of Big Brother (and I’m a tad younger than you…).
It’s car crash TV…
The best way for this to die a death is if no-one watches.
Lucie gave me a copy of Casablanca on DVD for Christmas… Now there’s quality entertainment!
Casablanca! Now that is class. Thanks for the New Year greetings and the advice about not watching BB!
Happy New year to you Freda, hope you are well.I’m like you I can’t get my head around Big Brother either but my youngest daughter thinks it’s great so it must be an age thing.
I just wish that the TV companies would actually put something on that was worth watching the last few weeks have been dire,no doubt more of the same for the future,Good thing we’ve got your Blog to read always cheers me up.
Thanks for the encouragement, Graham, it always surprises me that folks actually enjoy the blog. After all, it is both a flight of fancy and mere self-indulgence! I was thinking of having a five-minute peek into the BB House later tonight……just to keep up to date, but I think that might be the road to ruin.
