I do not like getting up in the dark. I don’t mind the early evening dark, because there is something cosy about pulling the curtains and battening down the hatches. But getting up even in the gloom of early morning in December……not a favourite thing.

7.30 am view from my study – blue/black hills, pale orange/pink sky rising from them turning pale blue through to deeper colour in same hue. New moon and single star. Wonderful, makes getting up early worth while, but too cold to open the window and take a photo – or go outside to do same. Just need to keep it in my memory.
Ah but you see there is the difference. It seems to be constantly wet, dank and cold here at the moment.
