Interestingly enough – it works. Misty seems to respond to gentle whispering and creeping out of the front door. And the neighbours are spared the late-night barking.
What a relief.

I thought of you today! My husband and I were at a pet store in Salem, Oregon (just to look as it is the place where we adopted our first Old English Sheepdog) — and there was a cairn terrier puppy there. What a sweet little pup; I hope someone takes it home soon.
That whispering trick sounds great. Glad it worked for all concerned.
It is just as well the cairn puppy is on another continent! I am a softie.
