The garden is very much a work in progress at the moment. What with hedging being tamed, hedge trimmings being uplifted, eight tons of gravel being delivered, extra fencing, many climbing plants (including four clematis and an everlasting sweet pea) and new edging and earth, the dog is very confused. The cat is more inclined to think that all that lovely new earth is there just to be an alternative toilet or rolling area.
It struck me that I am still a work in progress. A good thing to remember as the years go by. There is always something new to learn everyday, if we just give ourselves space to think.
Thank you for that timely reminder!
Yes Joan, and now the driveway is blocked, so it is a case of taking to the barrowing!
I sure hope that you are feeling better now.
I smiled when I read about your cat in the tilled soil. Our little garden space was roto-tilled last Sunday and I haven’t felt like planting the plants and seeds that I have ready (maybe tomorrow). You have reminded me to watch for ickies buried when I begin digging, as I’m sure the cats have discovered this. Abby, our Old English Sheepdog, views it with great pleasure — and her huge paws really collect that mud! I know we’ll need to put in a little push-in type fence to deter her.
Thanks, Lydia, I am much more like myself now. (A granny-ism) Misty’s paws create enough mess. We did have a bearded collie once….only a bit smaller than an Old English. They are both beautiful, gentle breeds of dog.
