Managed to watch a film during the week, despite all the tennis. It deserves a thumbs up. A good year with Russel Crowe and director Ridley Scott. One of these films that leaves a warm and fuzzy feeling but without being overplayed or too sentimental. Five stars from me.

I’ve seen A good year in the video store and have wondered about it. Now we’ll put it on our list. I watched The Savages tonight (husband went to bed early so missed it). It was slow-moving in parts, but I think that might have been intentional by the director in focusing on aging. There are a couple of bed scenes, but no skin, nothing graphic. But honestly the last scene before going to credits made it worth the whole movie; very uplifting!
Thanks Lydia, one for my list too!
Update: My husband woke up earlier than I the morning following my comment here, watched The Savages, and talked about what a quietly powerful movie it was for the rest of the day. Bits and pieces from the movie would return to our conversations.
