The final part of the BBC’s Nativity series had me spell-bound. If you have the opportunity to see it, please do. When it came to the part where the three Magi bow down in total humility before the child I spontaneously burst into tears.
Yes, it was that good. Well done, imaginative yet faithful.
A Happy and Blessed Christmas to you and all those you love. And that goes to all my Readers whatever your beliefs, doubts and hopes.
I confess to a bit of a lump in my throat too.
There was something immensely powerful about that scene. Just the huge contrast of ‘wise men’ bowing in humility before a baby and the stunning realisation of just who they were bowing before. It really transported you beyond the dramatisation and brought you to the realisation of who we are celebrating at Christmas. That probably all sounds a bit odd to anyone who hasn’t seen it. I guess what I am saying is that I utterly understand your reaction.
I hope you, HBTW and Misty have a blessed Christmas.
Merry Christmas, dear lady!
Merry Christmas Freda and thank you for reminding me of what all of this is about.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a good new year
When the magi bowed down, I thought ‘Oh good. The congregation will understand what I’m doing this year.’
Merry Christmas.
