Is it me, is it apple or is it vista? Between them they are causing me an enormous headache. First you load your itunes, then you register your ipod, then Vista shuts down in a huff. Then everything freezes. Then you take off all the software you first thought of and look up an instruction book. Then you manage to reset and shut down the ipod nano. Then you breathe a sigh of relief and leave it all aside for another day.

BUT – is it working today? I don’t do the techie stuff as, while it is meant to make our lives easiser / better / calmer, I find it too frustrating / annoying / bewildering. I am best classed as an Old Fogie in this respect, I’ll leave it to you younger ones!
there was something about itunes not being compatabile with vista when vista first came out, but i would have thought that apple would have sorted it out by now.
it may be that the version of itunes which came with the nano was an older version, but it should update it’self automatically when you are running itunes.
enoy your music.
god bless
I am impressed with your fortitude! As soon as I read something about an instruction book my admiration rose further. You can tell that I don’t have an ipod, but it’s not totally out of the question in the future. I barely have one foot in the cell phone world, having got a pay-as-you-go cell last year and I use it about once a month! What I really would like is a new computer, but dream on.
I take it we’re all talking about PCs here? I think you have to be a real geek to use PCs. Apple all the way for me! 🙂
Thanks everyone, the ipod is strewn across my desk and I am having a Day Off technology. I understand why people use Apple computers – but I am stuck with my PC at present. Him Behind the Wheel is determined to have an Apple next time his computer needs replaced. (That is assuming he lives long enough!)
Freda, take the hint! Buy a Mac, it will change your life!
Maybe a mac is the answer! At least then you won’t be showered with no-can-do’s!!!
Ah yes – but there is a slight problem of all the programmes that do work on the PC, not to mention the cost.
I have yet to find one essential program that is not available on the Mac. In fact the Mac will do it better, quicker and with much more elegance. Go on Freda… treat yourself!
