Hold fast to dreams
for if dreams die,
life is a broken-winged bird
that cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
for when dreams go,
life is a barren field
frozen with snow.
Have you any dreams to share?
Hold fast to dreams
for if dreams die,
life is a broken-winged bird
that cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
for when dreams go,
life is a barren field
frozen with snow.
Have you any dreams to share?
I’ve already lived many of my dreams. That doesn’t mean I’ve stopped dreaming, of course. At the moment, I don’t have an active special one, but wait around! I’m sure one is on it’s way!
Most of my life is lived in a dream world, hence my blog title “Daydreamer”. I don’t think it is necessary to live your dreams as long as you have a sort of parallel universe to escape to when the going gets too hard.
As to the other kind, the product of the subconcious which make their presence felt when asleep, there is nothing much to be done about them, enjoy the good ones and try not to be too alarmed by the other kind, since we can’t influence them in any way.
A life without dreams would be unthinkable for me, a barren landscape.
Freda, This is David’s favorite poem. When we were first married he posted a copy of the poem on an index card and tacked it to our kitchen bulletin board. Some where along the line the index card disappeared, but when I saw it on your blog today, I read it to David. He did not know who had written it, so thanks for the information. Dianne
It seems that having a dream takes on a different and deeper aspect as we get older. Lyn, I can’t say I have specific dreams either, but thanks for making me feel less bothered about it. As to having a parallel universe, Ray, I think that is a great idea.
I’m going to start working on dreams I can drift into and relax……. whether of simple things like a gorgeous meal, practical things like a white beach and bright sunshine, or lots of campervanning holidays!
saw my dead Dad driving a big red convertible in heaven…..

My dreams seem to fall into the “what is” category. Some come to fruition; others don’t and shouldn’t.
Cloudia, that is a brilliant dream and has all sorts of possibilities for happy dreams.
